Daybreak, Salt Lake is located 22.3 miles (35.88 km) southwest of Salt Lake City. It is 5.5 miles (8.85 km) west of and part of South Jordan. Other nearby communities include: West Jordan, 8.0 mi (12.87 km); Herriman, 3.7 mi (5.95 km); Riverton, 5.3 mi (8.52 km).

Daybreak is a planned community including man-made Oquirrh Lake as its center piece, developed for non-motorized boating, fishing, and other recreational activities.

The area is accessible by Bangerter Highway to the east, Jordan Parkway to the north and Daybreak Parkway to the south.

Looking east provides a magnificent view of Mount Olympus and the Wasatch Mountains. The view west show the Oquirrhr Mountains and the Kennecott Copper Mine.
