DOLORES RIVER *Dolores River (Grand) drains from Colorado into the Colorado River in Utah, midway between Cisco and Moab. The mouth of the river is at Dewey. The Old Spanish Trail followed part of the river. The Spaniards named it Rio Nuestra Senora de los Dolores or River of Our Lady of Sorrows. The Dominguez-Escalante expedition named it El Rio de San Bernardo. John W. Van Cott |
