JOHNSON

Johnson (Kane) was first settled up Johnson Canyon east of Kanab. The Johnson brothers, Joel H., Joseph E., Benjamin F., and William D., along with their families, founded the community in tlhe spring of 1871. Brigham Young wanted a settlement in this region, so he recommended the brothers leave their Virgin Rivere Valley location to settle there.
