History of Mountain Green, Utah
-
MOUNTAIN GREEN
Mountain Green (Morgan) is in Morgan Valley, Lower Weber Canyon on Interstate I-84, just above Devils Gate. It is 10.2 miles from Morgan City to the east, Ogden 17.2 miles to the west and Huntsville 12.6 miles to the north. In 1859 George Higley built the first cabin in the valley.

It was here in 1825 that American trappers led by Johnson Gardner and the rival British Hudson's Bay Company led by Peter Skene Ogden, clashed over territorial trapping rights.
