WEST POINT

West Point (Davis) is a scattered agricultural community, three miles west of Clearfield on U-107. The community was an outgrowth of Syracuse, with an early name of South Hooper. the origin of the name is the result of locating the settlement on a point or small peninsula extending out into the Great Salt Lake. Another record suggests it was named for the famous military school in the state of New York.
