GARLAND

Garland (Box Elder) is a small, thriving community on U-82, one mile north of Tremonton. It was originally settled in 1890 and was known as Sunset for the beautiful sunsets seen from this area. It was later named for William Garland, who led the construction of the Bothwell Canal. He was also a leader in developing the sugar beet industry in the region.
