GROUSE CREEK

Grouse Creek is in Grouse Creek Valley on the west banks of Grouse Creek. The area was settled in 1876 and received its name from the creek. Sage grouse were plentiful throughout this area. When the Cook family settled there, they used the name Cooksville, a name that preceded Grouse Creek. Benjamin F. Cook dug the first well in the vicinity.
