VALLEY CITY

Valley City (Grand) is a ghost town site on US-160, five and one-half miles south of Crescent Junction. A nearby reservoir, Valley City Reservoir, carries on the name. In 1908 an earthen dam washed out and flooded the homesteads below. By 1930, flash floods finally forced the last settlers to move out of the area.
